About Us
Being first an Educational Institution, we at Mustard Seed Children’s Academy are passionate about redefining approaches to Early Childhood Education and Care. We do this by integrating different research-proven methodologies and curriculum to get the best of various worlds! We understand that when it comes to children, there is no one-size-fits-all. Our holistic approach encourages students to build a strong foundation academically, developmentally, and socially while also being equipped with great moral values and a healthy self-image.
We are Christian faith-based and have built a value-based curriculum called Kids of Integrity into our program. This involves weekly teaching values such as Love, Patience, Respect, Kindness, etc. using child relatable Bible Stories. We hold ourselves to a distinct higher standard in education and an exceptional level of care. This is why we offer ‘OUR PROMISE’ of EXCELLENCE in all we do.
Classrooms
From the very first time you walk into our reception, you cannot but notice the intentionality of design in our spaces and our environment.
Our spacious classrooms have been specifically and professionally designed with extra attention to the little details that come together to make a big difference in a true child-centered and holistic learning environment. Every room is filled with natural materials, adaptable colors, and lots of natural light. This helps with calmness and positive energy levels that cater to a good learning environment.
Each classroom is designed with different activity centers such as Art, Math, Science, Water Play, Dramatic Play, Reading and Listening Centers. They are equipped with specifically selected age-appropriate toys, educational and play materials that meet accreditation standards. This promotes creative development, critical thinking, and also enhances the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of our students. Our furniture, classroom dividers, and cubbies are creatively crafted to create the environment we desire.
We have smaller class sizes with our teacher-student ratios lower than state requirements. This is to ensure every child is given the opportunity to flourish in an environment that is developmentally appropriate for them. Here are our different age groups:
Lil’Seedlings 1 (6 weeks - 6 months), Lil’Seedlings 2 (6 months - 12 months), Lil’Sprouts (12 months - 18 months), Lil’Buds (18 months - 2 ½ years), Lil’ Blooms (2 ½ to 3 years), Lil’Flowers 1 (younger 3’s), Lil’Flowers 2 (older 3’s) Lil’ Mustards (4 to 5 years) and Junior Kindergarten (4’s. 5’s and all kids that miss the cutoff for Kindergarten)
Playground
We believe in the science of play and that kids learn through play. With in-depth research, we have designed our nature-inspired outdoor classroom and playground. Wood stumps, teepees, sandpits, outdoor art and music, log tunnels, labyrinths, stepping Stumps, and other natural features that help children discover and learn more about nature while they play. Each classroom has direct access to our outside space to ensure children get plenty of time outdoors.
Our facility is equipped with an indoor play area, which has play options like puppet shows, dramatic play shops, sports, and games. We like to ensure that there’s plenty of space and engaging equipment for children to explore!
